Babies and Children Are the Butterflies

In this TED presentation, UC Berkeley professor of psychology and philosophy, Alison Gopnik, talks  about how in the last 30 years, scientists have learned how much babies and young children know more and learn more than we could ever imagine.  They are like miniature Einsteins, really, able to create and test hypotheses at a much higher rate than grown-ups.

Read her article for CNN, then listen to her talk.  It's worth the few minutes it takes, and at the end, she tries to describe what it's like to be a baby in the world.  For adults, it would be like "being in love, in Paris for the first time, after consuming three double espressos." Our neurotransmitters would be flooded.
